Lauren Ziegler, Manager, Global Programs
Lauren Ziegler is the Manager for Global Programs at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing innovative global programs, including the Global Procurement Initiative: Understanding Best Value (GPI), carrying out strategic policy initiatives, and conducting outreach to multilateral financial institutions. She is also a member of USTDA’s Electricity Transmission and Distribution Sector Team.
Prior to joining USTDA in 2013, Ms. Ziegler worked at the U.S. Department of State, covering economic, energy, and environmental policy issues in sub-Saharan Africa. While at the State Department, she served as a 2010 Presidential Management Fellow under the U.S. government’s flagship leadership development PMF program. She has also worked for education non-profit organizations in East and West Africa.
Ms. Ziegler earned a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and graduated in three years from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in Political Science. She has lived and worked in France, Rwanda, Senegal, and Cote d'Ivoire and speaks French.
