Lauren Ziegler, Manager, Global Programs
Ms. Ziegler is the Manager for Global Programs at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing innovative global programs, including the Global Procurement Initiative: Understanding Best Value (GPI), carrying out strategic policy initiatives, and conducting outreach to multilateral financial institutions. She is also a member of the Agency's Electricity Transmission and Distribution Sector Team.
Prior to joining USTDA, Ms. Ziegler worked for three years at the U.S. Department of State, covering economic, energy, and environmental policy issues for sub-Saharan Africa. From 2010-2012, she served as a Presidential Management Fellow, a competitive leadership development program of the U.S. Government. She has also worked for education non-profit organizations in Senegal and Rwanda.
Ms. Ziegler earned a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in Political Science. She has lived and worked in France, Rwanda, Senegal, and Cote d'Ivoire and speaks French.
