Global Customs Initiative Southeast Asian Customs Officials Orientation Visit

Dates: June 1-12, 2008

USTDA will host a senior-level policy dialogue for 12 customs officials from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The delegation will meet with U.S. government counterparts and U.S. companies, in New York and Washington D.C., to learn about relevant supply chain security technologies and customs processes. There will be a business briefing on June 11, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel. The delegation members will brief U.S. companies on upcoming procurement needs and goals as it relates to customs modernization and upgrades. The visit and briefing are key elements of USTDA's Global Customs Initiative (GCI), which aims to improve customs infrastructure, in targeted countries, through targeted U.S private and public sector solutions.
