The West Africa ICT Road Map to Opportunities Conference

Dates: July 9-10, 2008

Location: Accra, Ghana

To assist countries in West Africa in realizing their goals in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, in coordination with the U.S. Department of State under the Digital Freedom Initiative, will sponsor the West Africa ICT Roadmap to Opportunities Conference. The Government of Ghana is graciously hosting the event.

The conference will convene top decision makers from 12 African countries, U.S. and African business executives, U.S. government officials and international organizations to promote dialogue on key issues including deregulation, privatization, public sector initiatives and telecom applications.

The forum's agenda is designed both to provide comprehensive coverage of the ICT/telecom issues facing West Africa and focus attention on key ICT/telecom infrastructure projects where innovative financing arrangements, intergovernmental programs and public-private partnerships will be most effective in supporting regional integration and trade.
