Indonesia Search and Rescue Reverse Trade Mission

Badan SAR Nasional (National Search and Rescue Agency) (BASARNAS) is an independent agency with national responsibility for leading search and rescue efforts throughout Indonesia. BASARNAS will visit the United States between May 6-22, 2010 in an effort to upgrade their resources using a budget of $170 million over the next two years to procure helicopters, communications and IT systems, as well as training services to respond to incidents throughout the country. The delegation will be comprised of senior BASARNAS directors and department heads who will visit Connecticut, New York, Washington D.C., and California to meet with U.S. service and technology providers as well as first responders with expertise in the field.
