2011 U.S.-China Aviation Summit
Dates: September 25-27, 2011
Location: Washington, DC
The 2011 U.S.-China Aviation Summit will serve as a technical, policy and commercial summit to assist CAAC and other Chinese aviation industry representatives in identifying and specifying advanced U.S. technology that would best suit its infrastructure modernization needs. Topics at the summit will include emissions reduction, aviation/airport energy efficiency, air traffic management and safety, air traffic control capacity and efficiency, air navigation and communications systems, airspace architecture, air cargo infrastructure, airport and aircraft security, airport development and general aviation.
To facilitate a high-level meeting and promote constructive dialogue among China, the U.S. government and the aviation industry, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and CAAC, in cooperation with the U.S.-China Aviation Cooperation Program, U.S. Department of Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, and U.S. Department of State, will sponsor an aviation summit September 25-27, 2011, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The 2011 summit will build upon previous highly successful aviation summits held approximately every two years in both the United States and China over the past decade. The summit will serve as an impetus to facilitate the sale of U.S. equipment and services in an increasingly competitive Chinese aviation market. The purpose of this summit is to promote specific commercial opportunities for U.S. businesses, expand overall trade opportunities in China, and introduce U.S. security and safety technologies and operations that can improve immediate and long-term China aviation interests. Equally important, the summit will offer valuable networking opportunities for U.S. and Chinese airport and aviation officials to discuss challenges facing the airport management profession in China and the U.S.
The American Association of Airport Executives is serving as contractor for this activity.
