The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is supporting a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) to familiarize eight Colombian power sector stakeholders with U.S. technologies and best practices for the implementation of a Power Market Management System (MMS), including financial settlement and billing, testing, and integration solutions in preparation for the upcoming MMS procurement by XM Compañia de Expertos en Mercados S.A.'s (XM), Colombia's system operator and market administrator.
In addition to executives from XM, the delegation will include representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the Regulatory Commission for Energy and Gas (CREG), and the Planning Unit for Mining and Energy (UPME).
The delegation will meet with U.S. companies and U.S. government stakeholders as well as regional and independent system operators throughout the RTM. There will be a Business Briefing on March 18, 2014 at the USTDA Business Center (1000 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 1500, Arlington, VA) to provide a forum for the Colombian delegation to brief attending U.S. companies about their expectations for their upcoming procurement of a Power Market Management System and other related services. At the briefing, U.S. companies will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Colombian delegates.
