USTDA WEBSITE REDESIGN STREAMLINES DELIVERY OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT USTDA PROGRAMS

Highlights Business Opportunities for U.S. Firms

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 1, 2007) – Today, USTDA launched a new design of its website, www.ustda.gov, to provide U.S. firms with direct access to business opportunities with USTDA and its overseas grant recipients. The design responds directly to feedback that the agency has received on the information needs of the U.S. business community.

"USTDA relies on private sector experience, ingenuity and technology to implement its results-oriented development programs around the world," said Acting Director Leocadia I. Zak on today's website launch. "Our new website will put information in the private sector's hands that they need to succeed."

In particular, the new website design provides users with ready access to current contracting opportunities with USTDA. In addition, information is available on contracting opportunities to perform USTDA-funded work for overseas entities on priority development projects. Both lists are available via USTDA's main homepage.

The new web design also increases the visibility of upcoming events to highlight overseas procurement opportunities. These events are designed to provide the U.S. business community access to the procurement decision-makers on major infrastructure projects around the world. Similarly, direct access to a current list of these events is now posted to USTDA's main homepage.

The website also contains a number of other new features, including increased access to contact information for U.S. firms that win contracts with USTDA-grant recipients to perform agency-funded work. Overall, information on how USTDA's program operates has been streamlined, a list of frequently asked questions has been added, and the search engine capability has been enhanced.

These changes to USTDA's website build on two previous enhancements to the agency's website earlier this year. These changes enable U.S. firms to request electronic bidding packets for contracts with overseas grant recipients and electronic copies of USTDA reports.

To keep apprised of the latest business opportunities and upcoming events associated with USTDA's program, individuals can sign-up for the agency's biweekly eNewsletter. To register, just complete the form located at https://www.ustda.gov/pubs/enewsletter.asp.
