MS. LEOCADIA I. ZAK CONFIRMED AS DIRECTOR OF
U.S. TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY BY UNITED STATES SENATE

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – The U.S. Trade and Development Agency announces that Ms. Leocadia I. Zak was confirmed on Wednesday, March 10th by the United States Senate to serve as its Director. Ms. Zak has been serving as the Acting Director of USTDA since January 20, 2009 and prior to that served as the Agency’s General Counsel (2000 – 2006) and Deputy Director (2006 – 2009).

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency advances economic development and U.S. commercial interests in developing and middle-income countries. The agency funds technical assistance, feasibility studies, training, reverse trade missions and business workshops to support development of modern infrastructure and a fair and open trading environment.
