HOUSTON, TEXAS – Linking Kazakh natural gas sector officials with U.S. companies is the goal of a hosted Business Briefing that will take place on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Westin Oaks Hotel in Houston, Texas. The Business Briefing is part of a USTDA-sponsored visit to the United States that aims to introduce senior Kazakh officials to advanced U.S. gas utilization, processing and distribution technologies and best practices through visits to U.S. facilities and meetings with leading U.S. companies. USTDA organized this reverse trade mission in response to the Government of Kazakhstan's instituted policy to eliminate gas flaring in 2012. In addition, the Kazakh Government also plans to bring gas to population centers that are currently not served by gas pipelines. The Business Briefing will offer a venue for the delegates to share their priorities and procurement opportunities with U.S. companies and thus promote interactive dialogue on technical solutions to help Kazakhstan meet its goal of eliminating natural gas flaring. The Business Briefing agenda includes a welcome by USTDA's Director, Leocadia I. Zak; presentations by the delegates on project opportunities; a panel discussion on project financing options; and one-on-one meetings with the delegates.
