MR. ZIYANG FAN, ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL, SELECTED TO ANNUAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT PROGRAM OF THE COMMITTEE OF 100
ARLINGTON, VA – The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is pleased to recognize Mr. Ziyang D. Fan for his selection as a member of the Committee of 100's (C-100) Annual Leadership Summit program. This leadership development initiative offers unique opportunities for career development and networking, including exclusive executive leadership training facilitated by Columbia Business School and roundtable discussions with C-100 members on developing leadership skills. Mr. Fan was one of 48 participants selected in the fields of finance, non-profit, science and technology, journalism and entertainment.
The Committee of 100 is an international, non-profit, non-partisan membership organization that brings a Chinese-American perspective to issues concerning Asian Americans and U.S.-China relations. For over 20 years, the Committee has served as a high-level bridge in the U.S.-China dialogue by fostering regular exchanges with the leadership of Beijing, Taipei, and Washington. C-100 members are leading U.S. citizens of Chinese descent who leverage their collective influence and resources to strengthen U.S.-China relations and promote the advancement of Chinese Americans.
Mr. Fan is currently the Assistant General Counsel for East Asia at the Agency. In this position, Mr. Fan is responsible for providing guidance in support of USTDA's implementation of its statutory mandate to promote U.S. private sector participation in economic development projects in the East Asia region, particualry in China and Mongolia. Prior to joining USTDA, Mr. Fan was an associate in the Beijing office of Shearman & Sterling LLP, practicing in the area of international corporate law. His practice included the representation of U.S. and foreign companies, with an emphasis on U.S.-China cross-border transactions.
Mr. Fan received his undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School. Mr. Fan is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.
