Mr. Ziyang Fan, Assistant General Counsel, Selected to Annual Leadership Summit Program of the Committee of 100

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is pleased to recognize Mr. Ziyang D. Fan for his selection as a member of the Committee of 100's (C-100) Annual Leadership Summit program. This leadership development initiative offers unique opportunities for career development and networking, including exclusive executive leadership training facilitated by Columbia Business School and roundtable discussions with C-100 members on developing leadership skills. USTDA Awards Grant to Develop Intelligent Transportation Systems in Brazil

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – USTDA awarded a grant on Jun 29, 2013 to the Traffic Engineering Company of São Paulo (Companhia de Engenharia e Trafego, CET- São Paulo) in support of the development and implementation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for the Tiete and Pinheiros corridors. USTDA Promotes Smart Grid Development in Kazakhstan

ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN – USTDA awarded a grant to the Kazakhstan electricity distribution company, JSC Alatau Zharyk (AZHK), to provide a feasibility study on a distribution automation project in the Almaty region. The grant was signed yesterday at AZHK's offices in Almaty by U.S. Consul General Michael G. Snowden on behalf of USTDA, and by AZHK Chairman of the Board Muhit Umbetov on behalf of AZHK.

New Online Tool Allows U.S. Firms to Determine Their Eligibility to Submit Sole-Source Proposals to USTDA

USTDA has recently launched an online tool that allows U.S. companies to determine whether or not they are eligible to submit a sole-source project proposal to USTDA. U.S. firms that are selected by overseas project sponsors to perform work under sole-source USTDA grants are expected to submit a separate, detailed project proposal to USTDA, and typically share the cost of the work with the Agency and participate in a success fee program. The new online tool and eligibility checklist applies to sole-source grants.Visit the project proposal web page

June 4-6, 2013 : Sino - U.S. Maritime Oil Spill and Emergency Response Management Seminar and Expo - Qingdao, China - This seminar will convene national and provincial officials from China as well as U.S. maritime industry leaders for discussion on a broad range of maritime safety issues. The seminar comes at a key point in decision-making in China, as the Chinese government announced that it will spend over US$450 billion on maritime environmental protection and oil spill response in its 12th Five-Year Plan. As such, the seminar will feature representatives from the China Ministry of Transportation, China Maritime Safety Administration, and the Port of Qingdao along with other decision makers.

 

June 11, 2013 : Chile Magallanes Region Coal Gasification Business Briefing and Financing Roundtable - Arlington, VA - The Chile Magallanes Region Coal Gasification Business Briefing and Finance Roundtable is designed to engage the Chilean delegation with U.S. companies, U.S. Government agencies, and other organizations to showcase technologies and best practices for coal gasification. The event will provide an opportunity for the delegates to discuss a major coal gasification project in southern Chile with interested U.S. companies and prospective investors and financiers and advance the dialogue on key project development and procurement issues.
