USTDA Sponsors its First Training Program under the GPI in Botswana

USTDA will hold its first training program under the Global Procurement Initiative: Understanding Best Value (GPI) in the Republic of Botswana from March 3-5, 2014. USTDA, in partnership with the George Washington University's Government Procurement Law Program, will provide a three-day specialized training course entitled "Obtaining Value in Public Procurement" in Gaborone for procurement officials from Botswana as part of a broader three-phase Procurement Assistance Program. The course will be taught by GW's Associate Dean Dan Gordon, and aims to educate officials on the benefits of utilizing best-value determination and life-cycle cost analysis in the procurement process. March 16-21, 2014 : Brazil Rail Efficiency Technologies Reverse Trade Mission – Dallas, TX; Washington, DC; and Jacksonville, FL - The objective of the visit is to familiarize Brazilian government, private, and regulatory representatives with the latest cargo rail technologies and intermodal transportation best practices.

 

March 30–April 9, 2014 : Morocco Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Reverse Trade Mission – San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO - The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will host a delegation of key public sector officials from Morocco's energy sector on a visit to the United States to participate in the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Reverse Trade Mission (RTM).

The Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington (EFACW) was created by the Washington State legislature in 1983 to provide free export finance advice and counseling assistance to small and medium sized exporters or prospective Washington State-based exporters.

EFACW provides consultation services in payment risk mitigation and export finance including credit insurance, letters of credit, foreign exchange, Export-Import Bank and Small Business Administration export finance guaranty programs. EFACW offers businesses information how to finance and get paid for their export sales and also acts as a matchmaker for their banking relationship.
