Country Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa
Joanna Hecht is a Country Manager for the sub-Saharan Africa region at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). Ms. Hecht is responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing the successful delivery of the agency’s Power Africa program in East Africa. Before joining USTDA, Ms. Hecht worked as a contractor providing research and analytical support to the agency’s sub-Saharan Africa team. Her prior professional experience includes working in the health sector as Peace Corps Volunteer in Mettu, Ethiopia and as a staff member at the Connect U.S. Fund. Ms. Hecht holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and a B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College (CT).
