Lauren Ziegler is Manager for Global Programs at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. Ms. Ziegler leads the Agency’s Global Procurement Initiative in South and Southeast Asia, Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, she is responsible for identifying new country partners and designing procurement assistance programs to help countries obtain the best value for their public funds. She also serves as liaison to the multilateral development banks and is a member of the Agency’s Trade and Project Finance Sector Team.
Prior to her work at USTDA, Ms. Ziegler worked at the U.S. Department of State and served as a 2010 Presidential Management Fellow, a flagship leadership development program of the U.S. government. She has also worked for education non-profits in East and West Africa. She holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ms. Ziegler has lived and worked in several countries including France, Rwanda, Cote d’Ivoire, and Senegal.
