Peter C. Barrett
Chief of Staff
Peter Barrett serves as the Chief of Staff for the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), a U.S. government agency that helps U.S. businesses create jobs through the export of their goods and services for priority development projects in emerging economies. USTDA links U.S. companies to global export opportunities by providing early project preparation assistance that matches U.S. technological expertise with overseas infrastructure development needs – creating lasting business partnerships between the United States and emerging market economies.
Peter also serves as the agency’s Senior White House Advisor and Liaison.
During his career, Peter has worked with associations, on Capitol Hill, and in the Executive Branch. Notably, he served as Director of Federal Relations for the National Association of State Treasurers; Chief of Staff for the National Credit Union Administration; Senior Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee; and Committee Staff for the Senate Banking Committee. He is a graduate of Brown University and has a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
