The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is sponsoring a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) to familiarize twelve Indian private and public sector delegates with a broad range of U.S. smart grid transmission and distribution technologies. These technologies will assist Indian utilities with their growing power needs, through grid modernization, demand side management and the promotion of renewable energy generation.
The RTM will include stops in San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; and Washington, DC, where the delegates will meet with U.S. utilities, government organizations, industry associations, and U.S. technology and equipment providers. The delegates will include representatives of major Indian utilities that are currently participating in USTDA's smart grid grant programs.
The RTM will include a Business Briefing on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in the San Francisco Bay Area where the delegates will brief attending U.S. companies on their initiatives, challenges and procurement opportunities.
A follow-on workshop is planned for March 3, 2015 in Bangalore, India (the day prior to the India Smart Grid Week 2015) to bring together Indian and U.S. power sector stakeholders for future smart grid project implementation. The agenda will highlight U.S. grid modernization and load reduction technologies and the best practices, policies and financing mechanisms to support them. USTDA smart grid grant participants and their U.S. contractors will share information gained through USTDA smart grid grant programs and introduce opportunities in the Indian power sector.
The Webster Group is organizing the RTM and workshop on behalf of USTDA. For more information on the RTM and workshop, visit the website:http://indiasmartgrid.twgtrademissions.com/
