The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will host a Transmission Modernization Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) as a part of the Brazil: Clean Energy Exchange Program Phase II.  The delegation includes twelve senior public and private sector officials from Brazil who seek to modernize their electricity transmission infrastructure, including the use of phasor measurement units, by understanding U.S. best practices and technologies.  Brazil has 126,000km of transmission lines and by the year 2024, the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy expects this network to grow by 59% in the extension and 62% in capacity.

The RTM will include meetings with U.S. public and private sector representatives as well as site visits in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia.  A Business Briefing will be held at the USTDA Business Center in Arlington, Virginia, providing an opportunity for U.S. companies to learn about upcoming procurement opportunities in the Brazil market and a chance to network with the delegation.  This event is being organized by Experient, Inc. on behalf of USTDA.
