East Africa Smart Grid Reverse Trade Mission

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will host a delegation of senior public and private sector officials from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda for an East Africa Smart Grid Reverse Trade Mission (RTM). The RTM is designed to introduce delegates to U.S. technologies and industry best practices in the smart grid sector. Delegates will participate in site visits and meet with U.S. government stakeholders, U.S. utilities, and U.S. companies to discuss technologies to reduce losses and improve reliability as well as policies, regulations, and financing mechanisms to facilitate the implementation of smart grid projects.

The RTM will include meetings with U.S. public and private sector representatives and site visits in Atlanta, Houston, and Washington, D.C. The RTM will include a one-day Business Briefing in Arlington, VA for the delegation to share information with U.S. companies on their needs, upcoming procurements, and plans for smart grid development in East Africa. One-on-one meetings with U.S. companies will be arranged for the delegates.
