Michael Mugo is the Senior Country Representative for the East and Central Africa region at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), based in Nairobi, Kenya. In this role Michael provides strategic planning, program support and business development initiatives across key sectors, including energy, digital, transportation and mining infrastructure. Michael serves as a core member of the Agency’s digital, energy and critical minerals infrastructure industry teams.

Prior to joining USTDA, Michael worked with the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa, where he facilitated strategic business partnerships between German and East African organizations. His prior professional experience includes serving as a Senior Account Manager in the advertising and corporate communications sector.

Michael serves as a Trustee on the Board of the U.S. Government Pension Fund in Kenya, holds an MBA in Marketing from the United States International University, a Finance degree from the Strathmore Business School and is a Certified CP3P professional.
